hi families I just wanted to send you a short video just kind of explaining what our homework is looking like cuz I know a lot of things came home today and I thought maybe a quick explanation might help the process be a little bit easier right here this is my B book and she looks similar to your child so I just kind of want to go through it with you again just so you know what you're looking at we open it up of course the things that on this side or the things that are important for you to send back to school you'll have September calendar where you can look to see where your child snack day is on what color they ended up on that day when you turn the page then there is just a nice alphabet chart that your child can sing to you they should know the song by or if you just need it for reference tool it's here for you as well but then this is the new thing that has been added and this is our homework you're going to find everything that you need in this pocket and it also says at the top to return this on Friday so this is an ongoing thing it's not something that everything has to be done tonight it's just our hope is that before the end of the week your child is able to complete the different things so just so you know right here this just tells we're learning this week so this week we're continuing to have letter recognized invocation and letter sounds we are in our writing we are still practicing writing our name and letter formation in math for comparing numbers within 5 and then were studying about families this week right here going to find what our homework is going to be so it says please send to school completed by Friday this week so then we have writing and it says book page 37 and 38 and it's front to back and that's kind of where this packet comes in there's a little information letter from me but really it has everything that you need connected to it this is our handwriting and this is just a reminder to keep this in a place that is safe at home where you'll know where to find it but right here it says workbook page 37 to 38 so mohawk child find pages 37 and 38 which is the letter L you can in tear that page out for them or help them do it they'll need to write their name at the top so that I know it's their work so is there handwriting for the week it's just practicing the letter L so they will Trace its and then on the second line they get to try it by themselves like where that Green Dot is so all the way down and then go across the bottom I'm going to have some words for them to trace on the backside which is Page 38 is the lowercase letter L same thing they'll trace it first and then on the second line starting on the green. They will do their own lower case right so that is what our writing workbook page 37 and 38 then we also have math this week it happens to be the same Pages page 37 and 38 again you'll help your child find that it's right here it says compare within 5 pages 37 and on the back is 38 so I'm going to go ahead and tear that page out where's a place for your child to write their name directions will always be at the bottom of the page so it says have your child compare the two groups of shapes and circled the group with more so right here there's a group of three a group of four they circled the group of four because it's more and then they circled the number for because it is the group that has more it has one two three four so that's what this is It's quick and simple on the front and on the back so you got different items but you're still going to circle the group that is 4 so I would on this one I would Circle the four dots and then come over here and circle the number for I'm in the same with the Apple's this group of apples has five this group has more than 4 so I'd Circle to 5 and then come over here and circle the fight also so that is kind of an explanation of our writing and math and you can just check those off when you I'm down here there's as menu to select for options on the grid and send back any work that you have to show so on the back is where you're going to find that and this is just really fun things for you get to do with your now we're asking that you try and choose four of them so they might be things as simple as going to the library or gathering sticks and forming letters on the grounds it could be just tell your family what you learned that day and then ask your family to tell you about their day so there's just different choices and this is supposed to be just a time for you to enjoy spending time with your child and then this is just kind of extra this is our September reading log so if you have an opportunity to read a book with color in an apple for every book that you read this is really intended to only take about 10 to 15 minutes each night if you find that it's taking you longer than that and I'm going to look at you now turn it taking you longer than 10 to 15 minutes it's okay just to stop this is not to be something that is hard I know that a lot of you have different activities that go on in the evening whether it be for gymnastics or church different things like that if you don't get to something one night it's please don't worry about it hopefully you can get it finished before the end of the week but sometimes we just have weeks that are difficult to get everything done and I'm just know that this is not supposed to be hard if you find child is really struggling and please contact me so we can visit about a way to work through that together if you have any questions let me know
