hey describe it's cold in here I hope you guys are doing well we miss seeing you at school everyday but we're excited to get started with some virtual learning this week so I'm here to give you a science update for this week's lessons Drake has and posted a lesson for us to do called the Golden record so you're going to be investigating the Milky Way and learning about what the golden record is so you're going to use nearpod to do that so you will need to get your what is nearpod code from your science teacher they'll send that over Dojo on Monday so as you're going through the nearpod a few tips make sure you read the articles carefully and use the information to help you answer the question and then design a golden record just like a real scientist with what so you're going to use that read and use that information and then apply it to the questions alright we cannot wait to see the golden record you create creative and do the best you can with that if you finish that lesson and are looking for some other things to do and there are some observation tasks so you can go outside at night of course with a adult and observe the night you can even keep a journal and for a whole month and record how this guy changes and and maybe even draw a map of what it looks like above your house we're going to share a link to a website where you can print some star chart I'm so you could use those to help you figure out maybe constellations we might be seeing this type time of the year and you can post on your dojo portfolio and let us know if you're doing those things and what's yours that's going there is also a few other activities. the fifth grade teachers asked so you'll see and clever a Galaxy article it just gives some more information about different types of galaxies there's also an investigation on the brightness of stars and I'm a compare contrast activity about solar and lunar eclipses so you can print those if you are able or you can I take screenshots of them and drawn them use an app where you could even just on a piece of paper and take a picture of that and send it to us on your portfolio you could also just take a video of yourself explaining something or sharing some information that you learned from from those activities as well but I hope that you guys can learn a few things about the Milky Way and stars in our galaxy and if your question or find really cool information please share that with us and we're here for you and I'm were excited to see you guys create this week have you learning
