okay let's look at how to add using number lines if we're just jumping tens and ones so let's say we wanted to add 39 + 24 so I draw all my open number line so on an open number line I only put the numbers I need so I'm going to start on 39 jump up 34 there's two tents in 34 so I'm going to jump in two times and so let's count by 10:39 39 59 there's four ones in 24 so I need to add for once 1/2 3/4 so let's count by 9 benign 6061 62 63 So my answer is now subtracting is the same deal or just going backwards celestra 39 - 20 this time we're going to start with the 39 over here we're going to go backwards let's go back to 10 back 411 39 29 19 now it's go back or 1-19-18 17 16 15 am I answers 50 okay the last thing we're going to look at he said we can add up to subtract thanks so we can take the same problem 39 - 24 this time we want to add up to subtract so we're basically changing it to 24 + blank equals 39 K so this time we're going to start here at 24 we want it in here 39 we need to see how much it takes us from 24 to 39 so first let's see how many 10 jumps we can jump buy down for 110 24 + 10 that's going to lay me on 34 if I go another one that would get me to 44 and that is too far so we can't do any more tents that means we need to do one jumps 34 35 36 37 38 39 that was Force One Plus One what's 1 + 1 + 1 type the big question is how much did we add all together 10 11 12 13 14 15 in all together means the answer is
