gas 5th graders we miss you man. We hope you're doing well I hope everybody's staying safe I know we're all curious about what's happening with the school year I work here is too so the great thing is Rutherford County is doing a really good job of keeping us informed about what's going on and of closures and different things like that and it so hopefully you know soon as we know you'll know as of April 6th we're going to start to provide some optional practice work for you guys 5th graders then another thing that you're tore up the most about is not being able to practice math Man. what's tank man so we're going to try and provide you some work each week you can find that work on the Cedar Grove website and still be updated every Monday and going to send some to try and walk you through that work so here we go this is math week number one okay Week 1 the main standard that we're going to attack is five nf7 so parents if you want to look that up find extra resources online at Great basically it's just dividing with unit fractions so you have a whole number and you're dividing by unit fraction or do you have a unit fraction in your divided by whole number so money Tuesday winds are going to look really similar we're going to start with i-Ready like you to work maybe 15 minutes or complete maybe one lesson each day if you're unfamiliar with I ready your students of taking a diagnostic test and then I read is going to assign them send specific to their needs so we love that the students are all getting different lessons based on their specific needs to help them feeling whatever cats and they have nice and we think I read this great so I'm going to try and do one of those then you're going to complete a task from illustrative mathematics all around S5 and S7 all right so can you sue Monday Tuesday Wednesday Lassen Park the video part and then they take the assessment and I don't perform well it's because you didn't watch the last sin man you didn't listen to pay attention you can take note that you'll be prepared for the Ellen doing the task my students all the time stop doing a math problem this is just a real world problem so tip number one on that is dry if you draw this you're going to have a better time with that promise secondly consider what these are all dividing problem so what do you have and in what are you doing with it do you have five pounds of butter in a recipe and eats recipe calls for 1/3 of a so basically you're taking that 5:10 breaking into pieces that are 130 hs5 / 1/3 and then you're taking that and breaking it apart to make 5 cupcakes 1/3 / 5 so consider what you have and what you're doing with it what you have and that'll help you get past the tax okay Thursday the game start with 15 minutes or 1 lesson of i-Ready and then you're going to click a link that's going to take you to a website where you can play a game called if you scroll down a little bit on the website you'll learn the rules in and how to play they're going to see someone's that's a Splat 14.1 Splat for each one of these is a different set of questions or a different game that you can play it was a great thing to do would be kids maybe invite your parents to compete against it's a great one on one game to see who can answer the questions quickly after you get good at it when you come back to Cedar Grove and you can challenge me Oregon since Friday first week of our distance learning and already you have a day off that I'm seeing right but it is Good Friday so we're going to observe a good Friday and not provide any work today I will parents be on the lookout for your teachers haven't contacted you yet they're going to this week so we have to look up for Dojo messages in particular that really is a great way for us to communicate it's very quick all the messages that are in one Place wheel of Dojo so if you contact the respondent are Dojo messages got to be great otherwise we're going to send emails and they're going to start calling you on your home phone so responding to those would be great if you have any questions. Joe's great also if you want to take pictures of your sweet babies and send them to us we'd love to see their smiling faces we miss them very much hope you guys are doing great have a wonderful week
