parents and families we cannot believe this school year is coming to an end we certainly have persevered through this trying year however we are ready to blast off in the new school year 2021 2022 and we are so glad you have decided to join us this is the year and parent transition meeting this meeting is to provide you with information about the next school year your new grade-level teachers and the CG staff will be providing you with information about the new grade your student will be in in August we are so excited to offer this information to make the transition from one grade to the even better and easy for your child please make sure that you have chosen the video associated with the grade level your child will be starting in August we look forward to partnering with you in this transition into a brand new school year we'd like to start off this parent transition meeting for you to meet our principal Miss Paige George and are brand new assistant principal in 2021 assistant principal mrs. Kelli Garner getting ready for next year is easy here are some things we will cover in video we will be looking at an important dates and information for you to be ready and prepared for the next school year you're going to get to meet your brand new team of teachers look at specific grade level information that you will need next school year looking at how we can provide some great summer learning resources to you and looking at those dates are starting school in the fall we hope that this meeting prepares you for the next school year the last day for school will be May 27th online student stration will be on going through Skyward so all enrollment and verification of enrollment will be online through Skyward again this year look to rcg website for more information the first day for students will be August 6th and it will be a two-hour day and we are so excited to see those kiddos back August 9th will be our first full day with students and we just can't wait please keep in mind that breakfast and lunch will continue to be free until October 21st let's meet the teachers here is your third grade team mrs. bird mrs. beavers this is Kay mrs. Taylor this is Miller and mrs. Powell let's look at some great bubble information third grade has come up with a core supply list these are the supplies that are needed for your third grade year for more information and to download this supply list it can be found at rcg website the third grade teachers have come up with some wish list items if you or your family members can you pick up a few of these extra things that would be greatly appreciated third grade uses ClassDojo for their communication make sure to connect on dojo with your child's teacher at the beginning of the year grade level policies and procedures read over our Dojo expectation for third grade turning the takes place in 3rd grade is reading comprehension complex text test-taking skills multiplication and division facts and an introduction to fractions this year your student will be earning letter grades on their report cards graded papers will be sent home and will need to be checked here is our grading scale transition materials for summer learning in your students transition bag you will find different colored card stock with multiplication facts listed please follow the directions in the bag. your own set of multiplication flash cards there was also a sheet that has different games listed have a great time learning this summer summer learning opportunities are numerous in our area please look below to see a full list of Summer resources that you can click on and maybe take advantage of we want to also offer you some wonderful transition materials to help your student prevent that summer slide and to be able to blast off with great success in the fall make sure that you look for the link below this video to be able to sign up to be able to get all of the great activities that your teachers have provided for students who are interested in blasting off to that brand new year and being successful make sure you click that link and sign up your students will receive a packet here at school before they leave for the summer we want to see your child start the year feeling successful thank you so much we're spending this time with us today to help us and you transition your child to the next school year blasting off to a successful year start right now thank you if you have any questions you can find more information at RC gerc schools.net website
