Spring Planning Meeting 2022

welcome to the Cedar Grove Elementary virtual spring planning meeting for 2022 the purpose of today is to bring together people who have the greatest stake and the welfare of the students cge we will review how are Title 1 funds have been spent this current school year of 2021 to 2022 the information discussed today will drive how our federal funds will be spent for the next school year 2020 2023 and our Focus for parent engagement decisions made today will be the first step in developing cge School Improvement plan this process ensures federal funds are spent in a way that 96 S4 all the federal Title 1 funds received are in addition to the general purpose funds all schools received state and local ecte qualifies for these science based on the number of students who qualify for free and reduced lunches federal funds received a benefit all Cedar Grove students funding provides Personnel staff development parent engagement Trinity's and resources technology and instructional materials here at Cedar Grove we are constantly reviewing student data and using it to drive the decisions we make we will now go over 2021 State Testing and some of our most recent school my data one piece of data we closely monitor is our Tennessee value-added assess MIT system scores also known as te vas this is a measure of growth which shows how much academic progress is student makes compared to where they started the school year because some students in her school ahead of great level X patience While others in her academically behind their Finish Line may not look the same the important thing is to make at least a Year's worth of growth and preferably more in order to catch up students who are feeling academically the amount of growth is measured by a growth index for anything between -1 to 1 is considered level 3 which is about a Year's worth of growth from growth index 122 it is a level for above-average Effectiveness a growth index above 2 is considered level 5 which is well over a Year's worth of growth if a student or grade level average makes less than years worth of growth that is denoted with level 2 or level 1 looking at Cedar Grove Steve all scores from last year you can see that we scored level 4 in English darts with a 1.8 for growth index level 4 in math with a 1.86 growth index and level 3 in science with a 0.93 index please note We Own lyrics 80 ball scores for 5th grade last year because there was no testing in the 1920 school year and they were the only grade with Baseline testing data in the 1819 school year from which to measure grow for more recent data we look at the present school years benchmark scores the standard bell curve helps us to understand our Benchmark data the scores students receive are shown as a tell rank with a majority of people expected to fall in the on level category of the 25th to the 90th percentile students who score above that are considered to be Advanced whereas students who score be who are considered to be at risk when determining which students require tiered intervention support we look at percentile rank as well as the students academic performance in the classroom we typically targets drug students below the 25th percentile for tier 2 interventions and those below the 10th percentile for tier 3 interventions that's a part of our we wants to instruction intervention RTI squared program we administer Universal screener to all students three times throughout the year fall winter and spring this table shows the wind turbine Mark data for K through second grade as gathered by our easycbm reading screener here's the data for hours 3rd through 5th grade reading benchmark screener and now you see the math benchmark data for all grades shown here Cedar Grove Elementary Schools Improvement data indicated for priority areas where the school develop specific goals the first two priority areas look at improving elahe mint and math growth for students in grades three through five data from the 2020 20:21 tnready assessments indicated that our Ela achievement was below the district average there or need to be increased as part of CG he's goal of achieving academic success for all students in addition math Rose scores need to improve based on previous state testing data the third priority area focuses on improving early literacy achievement Cedar Grove will do so by using easycbm word reading fluency and passage reading fluency based on grade level so that literacy GMAT scores will improve for students in kindergarten through second-grade the 4th priority focuses on improving teacher attention teachers are our most valuable resource so we are all working to improve Recruitment and Retention of Highly qualified teachers as cge as a Title 1 school we received additional funding at Cedar Grove for the 21 2022 school year our funds were allocated as follows 77% of our funds were spent for additional staff to support the growth of our students in the priority areas we have mentioned 2% of our funds were spent on the further education of our teachers 6% of funds were used to support learning through the purchase of instructional materials and programs 14% of our funds were used to purchase ecology to help us maintain a one-to-one ratio of iPads and laptops for students and update classroom technology 1% of our funds were spent for parent engagement as you'll notice the largest percentage of our Title 1 funds were used to hire additional staff members as follows two instructional coaches to academic interventionist to educational ETA and one behavior intervention DIA teachers were able to attend to grade-level professional Learning Community Days to work on planning engaging and effective differentiated and correction and assessments in all curriculum areas this year Cedar Grove purchase a program on social emotional learning providing teachers with curriculum for helping students manage behavior and emotions the websites listed above or purchase to help students practice and attain academic goals and to help teachers monitor growth for students math manipulatives were purchased to help students concrete mathematical understanding we wanted to focus our technology and Equipment purchases to support class turn teachers by providing ViewSonic interactive boards these interactive boards allow teachers to create lessons that respond to a touch of their finger tip based on parents surveys and our school and crew plan parents can attend various academic trainings funded by Title One the training Siskel here where a combination of virtual or in-person events each spring we seek feedback from parents on strengths and needs of the schools Title 1 program and on Cedar Grove Elementary are most recent 2122 survey results show that parents felt communication amongst teachers and parents is given often and through affected formats such as ClassDojo Twitter and schoolmessenger parents were pleased with both General communication with teachers and communication related to academic progress of their child other areas of strength or access of materials and training opportunities for parents to learn more about helping students at home although most of the trainings and events were virtue for the 2021 2022 school year has actively participated and gave feedback from making the next event more effective parents also feel their child has shown growth in several academic subjects and with attitude and behavior one area that was shown to be a need for growth is access to in-person parent
