HiSET Adult Education Program

Enrollment Process for HiSET Program

All individuals must attend Orientation and have their valid photo ID with them. We also need individuals to bring their Social Security Card with them. If an individual is not a U.S. Citizen, additional information is required.  Orientation is offered at the following location:

Adult Education Center          Every Tuesday             9:00 AM or 5:00 PM

There are some Tuesdays that we will not have Orientation.  Our schedule does not always follow the schedule for Rutherford County Schools. Please check with the office (615-896-0876) to find out schedule during Fall Break, Spring Break, and other days that Rutherford County Schools may be closed.  If any closures fall on Tuesday, we would not have Orientation.

Orientation takes approximately 3 hours.  As part of Orientation, all individuals will be given computerized placement tests to determine if they need classes or if they are ready to take the Official Practice Test (OPT).   Classes meet twice a week at the Adult Education Center.  We also have classes available at the LaVergne Library. The OPT is only given at the Adult Education Center located at 2240-B Southpark Dr., Murfreesboro, TN 37128.

The above information applies mainly to individuals that are 18 or over. Parents requesting information about possibility of serving 17 year-olds need to contact Joan DeLisle at  our main phone number 615-896-0876.

Please contact the Adult Education office at 615-896-0876 or 615-904-3876 for additional information.
